Cost-cutting efforts eliminate positions, shifts responsibilities

Fiberweb has announced cost cutting efforts including the streamlining of leadership in its European hygiene business. Going forward, Fiberweb’s European Hygiene business will be led directly by the company’s CEO Daniel Dayan; Carsten Heldmann, head of global research and development has been appointed global key account director of Fiberweb’s important relationship with Procter & Gamble. Gianluigi Fornoni, president hygiene Europe and Pieter Meijer, sales and marketing director hygiene Europe, will leave the business immediately. On the industrial side, Hans-Jörg Oberberg, president Europe industrial, will add Fiberweb’s European filtration activities to his existing responsibilities. Fibewerb’s new airlaid line at Peregallo di Lesmo, Italy is now operational and is being integrated into the European hygiene business. Fiberweb’s second airlaid line in Tianjin, China is being completed. Derek Chan, president of Fiberweb Asia will lead the company’s global airlaid customer relationships while Herberg Gerlach, airlaid business director will leave the company. Fiberweb will focus its research and development activities in two locations—Old Hickory, TN an Peine, Germany—and will cease research and development activities in Simpsonville, Sc by the end of the year. Also closing will be a trading office in Hong Kong.
